Why Is It Important To Ventilate The Inner Grow Rooms, And How To Do It?

Proper ventilation is an important factor to consider while growing plants in an indoor grow room. Without proper ventilation, plants fail to grow and flourish. In fact, they will fail to survive. Now here’s the reason why? Plants need an environment that stimulates the actual outdoor environment in the inner grow room as much as possible. Air movement is the critical part of the outdoor environment. By providing the same environment in the inner grow room as similar to the outdoor environment, you are enabling the process of photosynthesis. If you create the air movement in the inner grow rooms, then pests will come and cause the plant illness. The health of plants will be at stake if you fail to set up the proper environment in the inner grow rooms. The factors included in the ventilated environment are:

    Carbon Dioxide

Plants need carbon dioxide to grow and undergo the process of photosynthesis, so it must be present in the environment. Carbon dioxide is present in all types of grow facilities. But if the building is sealed and there is no ventilation, then the level of carbon dioxide drops drastically. When this happens, the process of photosynthesis will not occur. High levels of carbon dioxide increase photosynthesis tremendously. In a room with no airflow, the carbon dioxide level of plants will be about 200 ppm. This lower level strangles the potential of your crop.

    Humidity

The plants will produce humidity. The larger the plants, the higher the level of humidity they produce. Very high humidity can cause poor growing conditions. Muggy and damp environments with too much humidity are breeding grounds for pests and diseases. The humidity level within the growing facility should ideally stay between 60 to 65 %. This only happens with the proper ventilation. A facility with no fans will increase the level of humidity at 100 %. Plants are not able to stay cool and do their work. Plants will be unable to photosynthesise. On the other side, ventilation in excess will draw moisture out of the air and won’t leave enough humidity. To maintain a consistent and accurate level of moisture and humidity, you must closely monitor the movement of air.

    Heat

Growing facilities must have the grow lights for the optimal growth of the plants. These lights cause heat. Without proper ventilation, it will get too hot for the plants. The level of heat should be between 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Plants that are not at the proper temperature are not able to produce, and they will be stressed.

    Oxygen

The air within the growing facility may change often. This especially happens at night when the humidity level increases. Proper ventilation is important to maintain those strikes at night in humidity levels, as well as to keep the proper movement of air, which will help with the various changes. In grow facilities in inner grow rooms, there should ideally be a complete change in air within a minute.

    Pests

Pests may completely destroy the plants. Each of the above factors plays a role in maintaining the healthy growing plant facilities. Pay attention to the carbon dioxide, humidity, ventilation and oxygen, which help to reduce the risk of pests, fungus and mold.

How To Get An Inner Grow Room With Proper Ventilation?

This is the tuned process because too much or too little ventilation can damage the plants. If there is little ventilation, then it causes too much humidity and heat and not enough carbon dioxide. If there is excess ventilation, then it will bring the level of humidity down and cause the plants to lose too much water through the process of evaporation, which is called transpiration.

Tips To Maintain Proper Inner Grow Rooms:

    Extraction Fans

These fans must also be called exhaust fans or outtake fans. These are the fans that pull the air. You must perfectly size these plants for effective results. Online, here are calculators for inner grow room ventilation. You need to know the dimensions of the inner room, which helps you to determine how many fans are required. The extraction fans of the proper size are important.

    Oscillating Fans

Small inner grow rooms will get the benefits from oscillating fans. However, the larger inner grow rooms will need large air movement with HVLS, which we will discuss later on. The big advantage of oscillating fans is that they are placed strategically to maximise the flow of air. They also offer the setting for adjustable speed. You want to flow the air around the plants, not on them. The air movement at your plants can stress them and cause harm.

    Conclusion

It is important to understand the requirement of proper inner growth ventilation so that plants can flourish. Make sure there is air movement in the inner grow room. Get the humid and hot air out and move the new, fresh and cool air in. Bayton Horticulture Centre will help you get the gentle breeze throughout the facility for your inner grow room. The facilities provided by our experts will maintain the temperature and humidity. Also, add strength to the plants to make them happy and healthy. The question that we have not discussed in detail in this blog is how larger inner growth maintains large movement of air with HVLS fans, which you will get to know in the next blog. So don’t forget to read the next blog.
